Vinyl Factory opens pop-up store

Concept stores seem to be all the rage now. And in these economic times with capricious customers obsessively fingering their hard-earned pennies dubiously, it’s always good to make it temporary.

So in steps The Vinyl Factory, selling limited edition vinyl and art box sets from the likes of David Lynch, Massive Attack, Damon Albarn, and Hot Chip, in their temporary pop-up store in the heart of Central London. Open until 29 May, the store is a “homage to records and the relationship between music and art”.

Nice things to be bought include a limited edition box set of music for The Most Incredible Thing, the forthcoming Sadler’s Wells ballet scored by the Pet Shop Boys, and a limited edition of Duran Duran‘s latest album, All You Need Is Now. It also offers editions of Massive Attack’s Heligoland and Bryan Ferry’s Olympia.

With iTunes and Play.com the preferred choice for purchasing music, it’s good to see great album covers and music physically on show.

The store opens from 11am–7pm Tuesday to Saturday, 12-6pm on Sunday at the Front Room of St Martins Lane Hotel, London WC2N 4HX
